Letter from the Chair
I’d like to start my news of the year by reflecting on the general intellectual excellence and distinguished history of IU Comparative Literature. There is a lot to crow about.
The program at IU is commonly acknowledged as the first in the United States to fully address the global and interdisciplinary nature of the study of literature. IU Comparative Literature has stayed focused on this concept since the well-known definition of the field published by Henry Remak years ago, which emphasized the international and interdisciplinary purpose of the field.
